Smarter Farming. Less Waste. Better Harvests.

Our client operates a model farm in a picturesque setting in Sri Lanka’s Eastern Province, nestled between a natural lake and a river. The farm cultivates a diverse range of crops for both commercial and research purposes and serves as a regional hub for technology diffusion and modern farming practices among local agricultural communities.

Managing multiple crop varieties presented a significant daily challenge: accurately estimating the individual water requirements of each crop under varying weather conditions and applying water precisely and on time demanded considerable labour and expertise. The site also posed unique operational challenges, including a shared water pumping facility serving both automated irrigated plots and manually irrigated crops such as paddy. Water is sourced from the adjacent lake via a three-phase electric pump, and the distance of over 100 metres between the pumping station and the farming plots made manual operation inefficient — resulting in wasted water, electricity, and labour.

The KRUZI Difference

With the introduction of the KRUZI Smart Irrigation System, crops now receive the right amount of water at the right time, fully automatically. The results have been tangible: improved harvests, a significant reduction in resource consumption, and lower production costs. Real-time mobile alerts keep farm managers informed of irrigation activity at all times, delivering complete peace of mind. Weather and crop data collected by the system has also become a valuable asset for farm planning and field research.

Built to Grow with You

The solution’s modular and scalable architecture allowed the farm to adopt precision farming technology with a minimal upfront investment, with the confidence that the system can grow alongside their evolving needs — ensuring full protection of their investment.
